Oishi found the perfect ambassadors for their scrumptious snacks!
In September 2023, Oishi unveiled their TVC with the well-loved, talented K-girl group sensation, TWICE, featuring their popular snacks: Potato Fries (Cheesy, Cheesy), Prawn Crackers (Anghang, Anghang), Pillows (Sweet, Sweet), and Miggos (Corny Corny).
An announcement was made by Oishi, in March, that TWICE will be having a Snacktacular Fan Meet at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 1. Fast forward to D-Day, Oishi and Twice held a press conference hours before the fan meet which was hosted by one of the Philippines’ seasoned hosts, Robi Domingo.
It was an afternoon full of “O Wow, O Wow” moments and from the responses that the lovely members of TWICE gave, it was evident that they genuinely enjoy snacking on their Oishi favorites. They even shared packs of Miggos—a unanimous favorite among them—with the media at the airport before their flight to Manila. As Mr. Domingo said, the synergy between TWICE and Oishi is very apparent.
Questions were thrown to TWICE for each of their Oishi sub-units, “Anghang, Anghang”, “Sweet, Sweet”, “Cheesy, Cheesy”, and “Corny, Corny.” One surprising revelation is that Jihyo and Tzuyu from the “Anghang Anghang” unit, doesn’t usually eat spicy food. However, thanks to the well-balanced flavors and level of spiciness of Oishi’s Prawn Crackers, they were able to enjoy snacking worry-free while shooting the TV commercial.
When asked about their recent “Sweet, Sweet” moment with each other, Mina and Chaeyong shared that their recent sweet moment was when they have matching necklaces. As for the “Cheesy, Cheesy” unit, they discussed the memorable gifts they’ve received from their members: Momo‘s gift of a lovely box containing cozy pajamas to Tzuyu, Jeongyeon‘s air purifier for Mina, and Sana‘s beloved wall clock received from Mina. Dahyun and Jeongyeon from the “Corny, Corny” unit were asked about the games they like to play with the members during their free time. They both said that they love playing “Manyage” (a what if game) with their members.
The girls were a darling and even shared some of the Tagalog phrases they have learned as well as their longing to taste the popular Pinoy dessert, halo-halo.
After a productive and enjoyable interaction with the Philippine press, TWICE assured that their fans can expect another core memory with them and witness their leader Jihyo‘s competitive spirit during the “Snacktacular” event at the Mall of Asia Arena.
We eagerly anticipate what Oishi and TWICE have planned for the future but in the meantime, let’s grab our favorite Oishi snacks and turn an ordinary day into a “snacktacular” one.
